Tato chvíle je pro náš celý team obzvláště těžká při psaní tohoto oznámení, a přestože jsem si myslel, že toto nikdy psát nebudu, ale bohužel se tak stalo realitou.

Je tomu již 14 let, co jsme zde pro vás jako OFPmafia, kdy jsme se poprvé ukázali světu a během této doby jsme prošli několika transformacemi a většími změnami, což je naprosto šílené, ale zároveň i skvělé. Za celou tuto dobu se nám podařilo něco nemyslitelného i působivého pro herní komunitu. OFPmafia vždy byla zde pro vás, hráče a komunitu, která mohla veřejně sdílet své modifikace a nápady s ostatními a byli jste to vy, kteří jste naši komunitu utvářeli a dodnes toto děláte. Mnoha lidem jsme pomohli splnit jejich sny stát se těmi, kteří jsou dnes mezi těmi, kteří veřejně tvoří pro ostatní a za to vám děkujeme.

Víme, že některé kroky v minulosti nebyly populární mezi komunitou a autory, někdy jsme se dostávali do špatných částí, ale stále věříme, že po té etické stránce jsme činili správně, ať byly naše kroky, jaké byly. Některým autorům, kteří cítí opak se omlouváme.

OFPmafia.eu zažila svých několik vzestupů a pádů, které se také podepsaly na naší komunitě a aktivitě. V posledních několika letech s příchodem Discord(u) a mnoha dalších sociálních aplikací pro správu obsahu zaznamenáváme velmi dramatický pokles zájmu uživatelů. Fóra a komunitní weby, které jsou založeny na fórech již nejsou atraktivní jako kdysi.

Tímto krokem nenaznačujeme, že fóra jsou mrtvá, ale i dle sledování zahraničních komunit si všímáme, že fóra přicházejí o svou aktivní členskou základnu a v průměru se provoz a aktivita snížila až o 80% a tímto není možné udržovat weby jako je ten náš stále v provozu, neboť se z nás již stává pouze mrtvé „uložiště“ bez jakékoliv aktivní komunity, což nechceme.

Já, Michal, Luky, Jazz, Nettysfall a mnoho dalších se kterými jsme za ta léta spolupracovali byly úžasné chvíle pro nás i naši komunitu a měli jsme naší komunitu i práci rádi. Není nám lhostejné, že ukončením provozu webu OFPmafia.eu ukončujeme tuto kapitolu v našem životě, ale také uzavíráme část bohatství, které náš web obsahuje za těch skvělých 14 let. Uvědomujeme si, že také hostujeme velmi mnoho součástí, které jinde ke stažení nejsou a nejspíše již nikdy nebudou, ale v této chvíli bohužel nemáme jinou možnost, raději bychom odešli za jiných a vlastních podmínek, než abychom upadli zcela v zapomnění, k čemuž v současné i budoucí době máme velmi blízko. Zároveň také správa webu již není jednoduchá a provoz je velmi nestabilní k četným zásahům, které jsme provedly a velmi mnoho by jich bylo před námi.

Vy jakožto naše úžasná komunita jste s námi na našem současném webu od roku 2016 sdíleli přes 160 GB souborů, které si stáhlo přes 2,5 milionu uživatelů a web má neuvěřitelných 9,1 milionu zobrazení z celého světa.

Rádi bychom vám všem tímto poděkovali, zcela každému, kdo nás za celou dobu navštěvoval, aktivně podporoval, poskytoval podporu všem hráčům, sdílel vlastní obsah a pomáhal poskytovat zázemí pro všechny nové, začínající tvůrce. OFPmafia byla neziskový komunitní projekt a celý tento projekt budovala naše úžasná komunita.

Dear community,

This is a particularly difficult moment for our entire team in writing this announcement, and although I thought I would never write this, but unfortunately it has become a reality.

It's been 14 years since we have been here for you as OFPmafia, when we first showed ourselves to the world, and during this time we have gone through several transformations and major changes, which is absolutely crazy but also great. In all this time, we have accomplished something both unthinkable and impressive for the gaming community. OFPmafia has always been there for you, the players and the community, to publicly share your mods and ideas with others, and it was you who shaped our community and still do to this day. We have helped many people fulfill their dreams of becoming who they are today among those who publicly create for others, and for that we thank you.

We know that some of the steps we took in the past were not popular with the community and the writers, and sometimes we got into bad parts, but we still believe that ethically we did the right thing, whatever our steps were. To some authors who feel otherwise, we apologize.

OFPmafia.eu has had its share of ups and downs, which have also taken their toll on our community and activity. In the last few years, with the advent of Discord(u) and many other social content management applications, we have seen a very dramatic decline in user interest. Forums and community based sites are no longer as attractive as they once were.

This is not to suggest that forums are dead, but even from watching foreign communities we are noticing that forums are losing their active membership base and on average traffic and activity has decreased by up to 80% and this makes it impossible to keep sites like ours still up and running as we are becoming just a dead "repository" without any active community, which we don't want.

Myself, Michal, Luky, Jazz, Nettysfall and many others we have worked with over the years have been an amazing time for us and our community and we have loved our community and our work. We are not indifferent that by closing OFPmafia.eu we are closing this chapter in our lives, but we are also closing part of the richness that our website has contained for these great 14 years. We are aware that we also host a great many components that are not available for download elsewhere and probably never will be, but unfortunately we have no other choice at the moment, we would rather leave on different and our own terms than to fall completely into oblivion, something we are very close to doing in the present and future. At the same time, the management of the site is also no longer easy and the operation is very unstable to the numerous interventions we have made and very many more would be ahead of us.

You, as our amazing community, have shared over 160 GB of files with us on our current site since 2016, which have been downloaded by over 2.5 million users and the site has a whopping 9.1 million views from around the world.

We'd like to say a big thank you to all of you, absolutely everyone who has visited us over this time, actively supported us, provided support to all players, shared their own content and helped provide a platform for all new, aspiring creators. OFPmafia was a non-profit community project, and the entire project was built by our amazing community.
